[Feb 21] La Otra en la Mission

(Between 21st and 20th Street)

We invite Mission residents and those who work in the Mission to create a space for those "below and to the left" and also those inspired by Zapatismo and the Other Campaign in Mexico.

Our intention is to create a consistent space for adherents and sympathizers to the 6th Declaration to support each other's political projects and build trusting relationships with one another. We want to support local struggles, network, share resources and spread Zapatismo in
the Mission.

We have no desire to build an organization or an "umbrella group," so we ask that those attending come as individuals-not as representatives of their organizations.

We are a loose group of San Franciscans who are involved with the Other Campaign in various capacities. We are involved locally in education, media, housing, the arts, intimate relationship violence, immigration, labor, and poverty struggles. Some of us attended the late November Northern California Encuentro last year held in Oakland and are inspired to continue the conversations that came from that gathering in a more local context.

We hope that those interested in attending will give thought to the following themes:

• What are you working on/interested in working on in the Mission?
• How do you see the ideas around Zapatismo being created in Mission?
• What are your struggles in the Mission?
• What motivates you to work/struggle in the Mission?
• What do you want support on?

We believe that through creating a consistent space in San Francisco to reflect and support one another, we can help build vibrant movements against all forms of oppression. Join us on Wednesday February 21st at 6:00 PM and bring your ideas and energy for this group. This gathering will be interpreted consecutively in English and Spanish.

Invitamos a l@s residentes el barrio de La Mission y crear un espacio para aquell@s de "abajo y a la izquierda" y tambien para tod@s l@s que han sido inspirad@s por el zapatismo y la otra campaña en Mexico.

Nuestra intención es de crear un espacio consistente para l@s adherentes y simpatizantes a la Zezta Declaracion para apoyarnos en nuestro trabajo
político y construir relaciones entre nosotr@s. Queremos apoyar las luchas locales, formar redes, compartir recursos y extender el Zapatismo en la Mission.

No tenemos intencion de crear una organizacion o una coalicion entonces pedimos l@s que van a estar que vengan como individuos y no como representantes de organizaciones.

Somos un grupo de personas en San Francisco que están involucrad@s con la otra campaña en varias capacidades. Pero tambien estamos involucrados localmente en asuntos de educación, medios de comunicación, vivienda, artes, violencia intima entre relaciones, inmigración, trabajo y luchas en contra la pobreza. Algunos de nosotr@s atendimos el encuentro del Norte de California que se dio acabo a finales de Noviembre del año pasado en Oakland. Esto nos inspiro a continuar conversaciones que salieron de esa reunión en un contexto mas local.

Esperamos que l@s que estan interesad@s en venir piensen en los siguientes temas:

• En que estas trabajando o interesad@ en trabanar en la Mission?
• Como ves las ideas del Zapatismo practicadas en la Mission?
• Cuales son tus luchas en la Mission?
• Que es lo que te motiva en trabajar/luchar en la Mission?
• En que necesitas apoyo?

Nosotr@s creemos que si creamos un espacio consistente en San Francisco para reflejar y apoyarnos entre nosotr@s, podemos ayudarnos a construir un movimiento vibrante en contra toda forma de opresión. Acompáñenos el Miercoles 21 de febrero y tráenos tus ideas y energía para este grupo.
